How to Wire a New Home

If you're building a new house or remodeling and have the opportunity to run new cable, you should wire for what's available today and also try to future-proof as much as possible for what's coming next.  You will be much more satisfied knowing that you can adapt to the inevitable change in technologies.  You will also be happier when you sell your home and can ask a higher price because your home is 'techno-ready' for the next buyer.

Our recommendation for wiring is typical in the industry and is based upon wiring best practices and electrical standards.  It is intended to be as universal as possible to maximize your flexibility and choice of components and solutions.  Our recommendation is a starting point for you but may vary depending on your solution.

This blog article is intended as an introduction to wiring.  You will likely need additional types of cable depending on your solution.  You also may have local in-room runs of wire that don't go back to the central headend location, for instance, if you are using amplified keypads or touchpanels.

Red Atom Networks can recommend the appropriate solution for your requirements.
