RealNetworks Slammed with Lawsuit
The age old challenge of legally copying a DVD to your hard drive is really heating up. The same day that Real released its RealDVD software to 'legally' copy a DVD, the studios and MPAA filed a lawsuit and injunction. Real says it's software is legal, the others say it's not.
Aren't we over this yet? Can we move on? Ripping anything today is so dated. Today and the future belong to on-demand streaming and download services not physical discs that are illegal to copy. If you have a movie you really want to watch over and over again, just buy it from Amazon.com or Netflix or one of the other services. You can also record it to your DVR if it's on. Then with Media Center, you can watch it on an Extender in any room at any time- legally.
Stop ripping and start streaming. We can help you make the transition.
